If this does not work, then you should disable IPv6 connectivity altogether. "Does comcast have anything to do with this?" Not really. It's just that OpenDNS doesn't support IPv6 completely with the enhanced features. "The OpenDNS Updater says that I am indeed using OpenDNS." Indeed - IPv4 only. Also the Updater works via IPv4 only.
Re: r7000 netgear genie openDNS parental controls not working I have the exact same problem. DSN entries are correct, account setup correct in opendns, and even Genie is able to administer the parental control settings and says they are enabled.
It is possible that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses the port that OpenDNS is configured to access, typically port 53, which will prevent OpenDNS filtering. If OpenDNS does not appear to be working correctly, enabling this will attempt to bypass those ports when using an OpenDNS content filtering level.
