Our goal at Retrieving Freedom is to place and match completely trained assistance dogs with a level of commitment to recipients that is second to none! As strong as our desire is to train the best service dogs, that’s only one component. The other part comes from the connection between the dog and the recipient. I started out volunteering here because I Freedom Service Dogs works to address the alienation Veterans with PTSD feel upon returning home, as well as close the gap in accessibility of the world for folks living with disabilities. By custom training service dogs, therapy dogs, and skill companions we are able to alleviate the stress and isolation our clients feel, while boosting independence.
