I heard about the latest router malware issue, and I understand that I need to update my router firmware. But I'm not sure if Cox does it on their end, or if I need to do something on my end. I purchased my router from Cox a couple years ago. It's Cisco model DPC3825.
R7960P firmware not upgrading - NETGEAR Communities I downloaded the 1.4.1.50_1.3.10 update zip file from Netgear site, unpacked it and uploaded the .CHK file to my router and it tries to install. The router reboots to the same old firmware and no errors in the log. I have also tried allowing the router to auto-upgrade itself with same issues. Update interupted - NETGEAR Communities If you can still log in to the the R8000 admin page after the reboot then you are good to continue and finish the update. If not, I regret to say that it is possible the router might have been brick because firmware update got interrupted in the process.
